Located in the northeastern part of the city, 15 kms from the business area, is to be found the Cairo International Airport (IATA code CAI), which is the busiest airport in Egypt and the second busiest in Africa. The airport is a home base for the national flag carrier "EgyptAir" and serves many passenger and cargo airlines. It has four runways and three terminals. Terminal 1 is the oldest one, Terminal 2 is under repair until year 2013, while Terminal 3 is mainly used by the national air company. The airport can be reached by car and bus.
