Larnaca International Airport (IATA code LCA) is positioned only 4 km from the city of Larnaca in southwestern direction, in Cyprus. This airport is the largest airport on the island and the main gateway for international flights. Larnaca International Airport has one terminal, where the arrivals and departures are set on two different levels, plus VIP terminal which is used by politicians and private aviation. At the end of November a new terminal building was opened, thanks to which the airport can now handle 7.5 passengers a year. New extension of the terminal and of the runway will be made by year 2013 to allow the serving of 9 million passengers. Larnaca International Airport could be reached through A3 motorway by car, public transport and taxi. There is also a shuttle bus service from Limassol and Nicosia. And in addition some of the hotels offer shuttle bus services as well. The onsite airport facilities include a business centre, three banks and a post office, a café, bar and restaurant, shops and a duty-free zone, as well as a first aid room. There are also parking spaces charged by the hour and offices of car rental companies.
