Tijuana

"General Rodríguez Abelardo" International Airport (IATA code TIJ) is located in the city of Tijuana and is the second most important airport in northern Mexico. The airport is a base for the airline companies  “Aeromexico” and "Volaris", and it further a base for the low-cost airline "Avolar". The airport has one passenger terminal with two zones, and one runway. The terminal has 23 gates, two VIP rooms, several restaurants, a duty free shop and car rental offices. The International Airport "General Rodriguez Abelardo" has yet another terminal that serves the private and the charter flights. The airport can be reached by car, bus or taxi. Taxis are allowed to bring departing passengers to the airport, but are not allowed to take passengers from the airport. The arriving passengers can take one of the state-owned taxis SAAT. Furthermore, the airline company "Aeromexico" offers shuttle buses from San Diego to the Tijuana airport for those who will fly to destinations in Mexico, China and Japan. Aircompany "Volaris" offers transportation from Tijuana airport to San Diego airport for those passengers who are flying to different cities in the United States.
