Approximately 10 kms from the Latvian capital is located Riga International Airport (IATA code RIX). This is the largest airport in Latvia and the Baltic countries’ region, serving over 80 destinations in 30 countries. The airport has one runway and one terminal, divided into three zones, depending on the countries of arrival and departure. There are plans to build a new terminal, a new control tower and a business park as well as several hotels and a high-speed railway line. Riga International Airport can be reached by taxi, car and small bus provided by the airline company "airBaltic".
