The national flag carrier of China and second largest airline in the country after China Southern Airlines is Air China, which has headquarters in Beijing and bases at Beijing Capital International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The airline operates flights to over 250 domestic and international destinations in Europe and Asia, Americas, Middle East and Australia. The airline fleet consists of airplanes of the type Boeing and Airbus.

The baggage requirements of Air China are as follows: the Economy Class passengers are entitled to 5 kg of hand baggage, while those from First and Business Class are entitled to 8 kg of hand baggage, with dimensions 55 x 40 x 20 cm. The registered baggage requirements are for up to 20 kg for the Economy Class passengers, up to 30 kg for the Business Class passengers and up to 40 kg for the First Class travelers. When the flights to Brazil, Canada and the U.S. are concerned, the restrictions are for two pieces of registered luggage up to 23 kg each with size up to 158 cm and total size of up to 207 cm.

Air China is among the twenty best airlines in the world and is a partner in the airline union Star Aliance. Since year 2000, the airline also offers a loyalty program, coupled with collection of miles and many privileges.
