The national flag carrier of Turkey Turkish Airlines with a base in Istanbul, covers 148 destinations in Turkey, Europe, the Middle and Far East, Africa and North America. Since the end of 2006, the airline is a member of Star Alliance and works in cooperation with Austrian Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Egyptair, Swiss, SAS Scnadinavian Airlines, United Airlines, TAP Portugal Airlines, Lufthansa, and many other airlines. The airline fleet consists of 127 machines of the type Boeing and Airbus.
According to the requirements of Turkish Airlines, the Economy Class passengers can carry one piece of hand baggage up to 8 kg, and those in Business Class - two pieces of hand baggage up to 8 kg. The registered baggage should be with dimensions 23 x 40 x 55 cm for the Economy Class passengers and up to 20 kg, while for the Business Class passengers the registered luggage should be up to 30 kg. For the overseas flights to the U.S. and Canada, the requirements are for 2 pieces of registered luggage up to 23 kg for Economy Class passengers and two pieces of registered luggage up to 32 kg and 158 cm size for the Business Class passengers. The Business Class passengers can also make use of the double seats system.
Among the services offered by the airline company Turkish Airlines, there is an onsite check-in 2 hours to 40 minutes before the flight, online check-in in the period from 24 hours to 90 minutes before the flight, and a loyalty program including collection of miles and access to various discounts and extras.
