Moscow International Airport Domodedovo (IATA code DME) is positioned in the district Domodedovsky, approximately 42 km from the downtown zone of Moscow in southeastern direction, Russia. Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport in Russia with a passenger’s traffic of more than 22 million people. It is among the three main airports that serve the Russian capital Moscow, along with the airports Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo. In the recent years, the airport underwent an expansion program in order to handle wide-body aircrafts. It now has an enlarged runway, more parking areas and better taxi zones and since March 2009, Domodedovo Airport can operate Airbus A380 aircraft. The airport currently has two terminals, an International and Domestic one, which are connected and are a short walk from each other. There are plans for future expansion of the airport including more terminal space, construction of new terminals 3 and 4, which will be connected and will increase the capacity of the airport to 35 million passengers a year. The available onside facilities at the Domodedovo Airport include meeting rooms, facilities for the disabled passengers, an onsite hotel, parking zone for short and long stay, and offices of car-rental companies. The available airport facilities also include a bank office, ATM machines, post office, several restaurants, many cafes and bars, many shops and a duty-free zone for the international passengers. There are also facilities for mothers and children and a special center for children. Moscow International Airport Domodedovo could be reached through the Aeroexpress trains from the Paveletsky Rail Terminal from the center of Moscow. Further, there is a coach express service from the airport to Moscow Metro station Domodedovskaya.
