John F. Kenedy International Airport (IATA code JFK) is situated in Queens borough in New York, approximately 20 km from Lower Manhattan in southeastern direction. Named after the 35th President of the United States, this airport is considered the busiest international gateway to the United States and handеls mоre than 47 million passengers a year. The airport works with more than ninety airlines and is a base for JetBlue Airways, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines. John F. Kenedy International Airport is undergoing a major expansion and renovation, including construction of three new terminals, the last terminal 5 was opened in year 2008. The transfer between the terminals is done with the AirTrain JFK and lasts for 8 minutes. The airport has two pairs of parallel runways that are set around the central terminal area of the airport and has facilities to handle Airbus A380 aircraft. It comes with eight terminals and works with approximately a hundred airlines from more than fifty countries. John F. Kenedy International Airport could be reached through the AirTrain JFK light rail system, the New York Airport Express Bus Service and taxis from the taxi booths at the airport. The airport could be also easily reached by car and by the US Helicopter scheduled flights on every hour.
