Zurich International Airport (IATA code ZRH) is known also as Kloten Airport, and is positioned in the Zurich Canton in Switzerland, approximately 10 km away from the city of Zurich in northern direction. A main hub of the Swiss International Airlines, the airport is the biggest international air gateway of the country. It has undergone a large expansion in year 2003, during which the airport received a new terminal, a parking zone, and an underground train between the new and the existing terminal. The runways are three and the number of passengers serviced is more than 23 million people. Zurich International Airport could be reached via the railway station at the airport set under the terminal, and also via the road network, which offers excellent connections on the A20 highway. There are several bus lines that serve the airport, as well as many taxis. The onsite airport facilities include a service centre, facilities for the disabled passengers, one hotel set near the building of the terminal plus a multi-level car parking. There are also bank offices, a post office, restaurants, cafes, shops and duty-free zone, a medical centre and offices of car-rental companies.
