Chicago O’Hare

Chicago O’Hare International Airport (IATA code ORD) is also known as O’Hare Airport and Chicago Airport and is the main airport that serves the city and its area. The airport is located some 27 km away from the center of the city where the main financial and business district is and is the third busiest airport on the globe with its more than 67 million passengers a year. It acts as the largest hub for United Airlines and is hub for American Airlines as well and has been voted for the best airport in North America for ten years by two separate sources. O’Hare Airport has four passenger terminals with two more terminal buildings in project. The airport is set in a long-term modernization scheme that aims to reduce the delays and to improve the efficiency at the airport. The airport could be accessed via the Continental Airport shuttle buses, the subway trains of the Blue Line, commuter trains, taxis and private cars. Inside the airport, the access is done through the Airport Transit System which is an automated people mover which is four kilometers long. The available onsite facilities include a business centre, meeting facilities, special facilities for the disabled travellers, a parking zone on many levels, offices of the main car hire companies, as well as a hotel. The other terminal facilities include ATM machines, bank office, post office, many restaurants and cafes, various shops and a duty-free zone, medical center and a chapel.
