New terminals will welcome tourists in Varna and Bourgas in 2013
On November 15 „Fraport Twin Star Airport Management” AD and Consortium “TIE- İÇTAŞ” signed contract for the construction of the New Passenger Terminal Areas at Burgas and Varna airports.
The construction of the new passenger terminals at Varna and Burgas airports is going to commence in December of the current year, and in the works only on the territory of the two airports 500 workers and employees are expected to be involved.
It is planned for the summer season `2013 the guests of Varna and Burgas airports to be welcomed in and sent from the new buildings.
The new passenger terminals at the sea airports, managed by the German- Bulgarian consortium “Fraport Twin Star Airport Management” AD will have large areas for arriving and departing passengers, state-of-the art passenger service systems, attractive retail areas and spacious open spaces. The state-of-the art interior line and passenger service and baggage handling system will be implemented that will increase the speed of service.
The project capacity of the new terminal at Burgas is around 2 700 000 passengers and in Varna 1 800 000. The check-in desks for passengers will be 31 at Burgas airport and 25 in Varna. The designs are fully consistent with the requirements relevant to Bulgaria’s accession to the Schengen area.
