The official opening has been slated for October 17 at the public zone in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1, Sofia Airport's press office said in a statement, as cited by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA).
The project has been implemented in compliance with a decision of the Consultative Council for Tourism at the Sofia Municipality.
The information center will offer free-of-charge information about historic and cultural sights in the capital, hotel and transportation services, and will provide a wide range of brochures and maps of Sofia in different languages.
The new center will help guests of Sofia get better acquainted with the city and will contribute to the promotion of Bulgaria's capital as an attractive tourist destination and a European Capital of Culture.
The information center will be open from the first till the last flight for the day.
A second tourist information center is to be opened at Terminal 2.
