WizzAir launches Sofia-Malta flights

Low cost carrier WizzAir announced it would launch flights between Sofia and Malta starting June 20. The flights will take place on Monday and Friday.

One-way tickets are currently on sale for EUR 39.99. Sofia is the third most popular destination from Malta.

"Our company believes these news are good for the labor market in the aviation and travel sectors in these cities," said WizzAir in a statement. "We hope the country takes advantage of the tourist flow and new jobs are created in travel and tourism. We are certain Maltese clients will appreciate the flights to the dynamic Eastern European capital, which preserves many valuable monuments dating from antiquity. Sofia is also known for its beautiful nature and the well-developed ski resort of Vitosha Mountain, which is not far," said Daniel de Carvallo of WizzAir.
